The Philippines is a beautiful country, not only because I am a Filipino, but because that is true. The beauty in the Philippines is not always in the physical aspect. If developed countries like the US, Canada, France, Britain, and Japan mainly focused on tourism by capturing our eyes, in the Philippines, we are focusing on the heart. It is true to say that visiting in the Philippines is very easy, but leaving is very hard. It is simply that it is so sad to leave the Philippines after you experience the exotic beauty of nature, the allure of its culture, the simple yet amazing simplicity of people's livelihood, and of course, the people itself. It is quite surprising why these people are still smiling despite of many problems and hardships. And those smiles extends even to the strangest of all alien people. Yes, the Philippines is plagued by corruption and poverty, but it is not that miserable, since the Philippines and especially the Filipino people received countless admirations and recognitions from our foreign counterparts. So, before you believe on rumors and criticisms, visit first, then you can say something on what you saw personally.

Alan,
Just go into any bookstore in Manila and you should be able to pick up a map. EZ Maps are the best I've found. But I believe this site does already provide information on how to get there.

Alan, do post your query in the Baguio article, or Ask a Question comments section. You will probably get more "directions" there.
