Hi Joe,

Begnas is a traditional Kankanaey community celebration held to mark the different agricultural cycles and other events. The dates are usually decided by the elders of the village like two weeks beforehand. I would highly suggest that you check the SAGGAS website (please check my main article on Sagada) because they usually post the dates on Begnas there. As far as I know, there is a Begnas going to be held at around the end of this month.

I hope your Sagada would be as memorable as mine. Let me know as well if there are new updates about the place!

I’m coming there for Begnas! I think I am going to ask Manang Katrina for at least five plates of pies to take back home (I will just wire the money in advance). Yum yum. I am glad that October isnt that peak of a season.. I will bring more Sagada converts with me when I get there. hindi naman siguro todong mass production. we just want to make sure that all of our guests will be able to at least taste a slice of our pies, and also buy a box. nakakahiya kasi pag nauubusan, parang tindahang walang laman, aalog-alog. gusto lang namin eh there would be enough pies for everyone, para walang dismayado. :)

i’m glad na hindi kayo kasama sa mga naubusan ng pies. haha. well. manang katrina is a very patient person. napakaraming magagandang comments ba naman niya all over the internet for her being so accomodating. about visiting sagada on october, im sure you won’t have to make reservations, kasi di naman peak season ang october. :)

We love the Lemon Pie House (as much as we love Sagada and the people- I really missed that place!)- I am actually a bit worried that because we featured you, more people will harass Manang for that slice of heaven. When I get back there in October, I will call you guys up so we can have our pies in peace and avoid the marauding Lemon Pie House pie-hungry people!

Oh no, I was there last weekend, I think you should you continue what you were doing though. I know those pies were made with heaps of love. I dont want Lemon Pie House doing mass production of pies. Please dont. I actually felt sorry for Manang. To other readers and visitors to Sagada – PLEASE DO NOT HARASS POOR MANANG. Just reserve your pies in advance. :) Hehehe. Hindi kami naubusan ng pie (that wasn’t us) – we were at Lemon Pie House at the right time (no people- YAY!!!!). I missed the pies tho….. :( :( :( Maybe I can ask for someone coming back to Manila to get me some… Sigh…
