Hi David,

Thanks! Change is happening but we have to continue to educate communities to be more environmentally responsible. It is imperative that environmental education be deeply inculcated in the national mindset - millions of lives depend on it. I am glad that Marinduque is also active in promoting it and putting programs in place and I hope too that soon enough, every community in the Philippines put sustainable tourism and environmentalism at the forefront of grassroots development.

Cheers,

Ryan: I like your answer to Asyed. Let me add that the Marinduque provincial government is promoting the province as the ECO tourism capital of the Philippines with several projects on the way. I wrote a short article on this subject at huliq.com dated July 22, 2009. Asyed and your other readers might be interested on the several ecotourism projects in MRD. For details visit the government blog, marinduquegov.blogspot.com
