Answer
Ryan: Hi Stuart,
I have been through Imus several times and the place is quite a little industrial due to its proximity to Metro Manila. For Imus, Yes you are right, it is very difficult to find information on a decent hotel there. So far the better ones that I could find is in nearby town of Kawit – Island Cove Resort (islandcovephil.com) and Microtel Inn in Cavite City (microtel-cavite.com/). Personally I haven’t stayed overnight in Cavite except when I visit Tagaytay. There are a lot of malls in Cavite (there are SMs there)- but if she wants to go to a better mall- the nearest would be at the Alabang Town Centre in Parañaque City. Also, while in Kawit, you may want to drop by at the Aguinaldo Shrine- site where the Philippine Independence was declared. I haven’t seen the hotels I referred to you personally but amongst the branded hotels, those two quite stand out. Otherwise, the better hotels that I know of are in Tagaytay- but it would be a little far from Imus already.
If you are planning to go to Bohol, Palawan, Boracay and other places – the nearest place to fly out is still from the Airport in Manila. There is another option to go to Boracay and that is through RORO- roll on-roll off- basically doing a road trip all the way to Batangas, to Mindoro and then to Caticlan. But otherwise- there is no other way but for you to fly out of Manila to those destinations.
Hope this helps and Cheers!
Ryan
