Betsy: arriving in Manila on June 21, 2 women, any advice on where to stay reasonably, we love nature , beauty, primitiveness, great food, culture, quiet, wondering where to spend our 7 days… any ideas would be appreciated… want to do some snorkeling, too.

Ryan:Hi Betsy,
Hmm… 7 Days, that’s a bit of a small time to enjoy the Philippines – for 7 Days, I would probably head out to Coron, Palawan (Check out our Coron guide) for 3 days – it has a lot of places to see in a single area – towering limestone cliffs, hot springs, snorkeling, deserted beaches, beautiful lakes, diving. Then I would head out to Sagada (Check out our Sagada guide) for 4 Days (nice waterfalls, peace and quiet, rice terraces, weaving, GREAT FOOD, awesome culture and people). Manila has great eats as well and nice places – you can do a day tour of the walled city of Intramuros. One of our readers here from Italy did Coron and Sagada in a weeks time as well a few weeks ago. Hope that helps!
p.s. Dont forget to allow yourself time for delays, the past couple of weeks seem to be very wet in most parts of the country but that will not stop me from traveling to the beautiful Ilocos provinces tomorrow. :)
